SIGHTING: So Dominika's the stylish, pretty one in this relationship, huh?

Dominika Cibulkova and boyfriend Jurgen Melzer were spotted together at an award presentation in Slovakia where the diminutive baller won the Women's Tennis Player Award 2008.

I have to say Dominika looks cute enough in her silk black ruffled halter dress, but what's up with Jurgen's spread collar/choker moment and square-toe black lace ups? Ick - that's straight up cheese and I haven't even started on his hairy situation.

Sorry Domi but La Monf has much better style. Strike one.

  1. Rich: You called it on the choker. What is this - 1995 or something?? :D

  2. He's gross. And that choker is straight out of Heroes.

  3. johanne: somewhere in the vast universe we live in, it is 1995 - and jurgen's all about it. he's keeping it alive!

c note: seriously. what is she thinking? clearly domi's all about her boyfriend-swapping, island-hopping, award-winning ways. does she even know who he is?

  4. The dude has a douche stamp on his upper back and his hair looks like it's sprayed on.

    Double deal breaker.

  6. Melzer looks like a not too successful Eastern European pimp.

  7. buahahaha Eastern European pimp!!lol I personally don't like lil Dominika that much, I was so glad at the beginning that another sweet lady came along, but direction she's taking kinda gets on my nerves.I mean she's all little lolita wannabe, without any real acomplishments, and yeah, trying to be in the spotlight cause of her realtionships , not her results. She's cute, and all, but her game isn't that good.Besides she's all about promoting herself, but outside of tennis, private pics that got out, I mean, please, not yours Dominika, we're not interested in Dominika-who? smooching pics.So less of Domi anytime!
ps.Melzer?Like I don't know how Austria is in that department, but he isn't doing them any good!Looks like a milk-man who got down from his mountain in da city of light, for the first time!

  10. LMAO @ Melzer. What a weirdo. On behalf of my country I'm sorry for this fashion disaster.

Seriously Johanne, I'm with you: 1995 called, they want their shoes and choker back...

And what's with the collar? Saturday Night Fever, anyone?

BTW tessa... what is it with that generalizing comment on fashion in Austria? I know there are many terrible dressers (as in all countries besides Italy I guess), but as a fashion victim myself I could be officially offended. LOL

  15. sonja: oh no - i was in italy last year and let's there were some winners, some in-between, and some big losers. a lot of people there love the super washed out, near bleached denim. ewwww.

i was such a fashion victim in high school and college (and prob a bit after that phase too.) i tried everything - i was such a mess. it was fun but i'm mad there's evidence to prove it...like my high school year books. AHHHHHHH!

  16. johanne: Really? Cool! Glad you liked it! :-) What'd you see? Hopefully the weather was alright, summer's always tricky here...
    Where are you from anyway?

Rich: That's weird, I travel to Italy a lot, but I've mostly seen well-dressed people there. But then, maybe it depends on the region...

*now imagines Rich as a fashion victim back in college*
Can't help but think of some kinda Depeche Mode look. LOL

Today I'm a fashion victim more in the peeptoes pencil skirt kinda way.
But I've had my baggy jeans tomboy days back in the nineties... oy. LMAO

  17. sonja: maybe i was checking out tourists who were undercover in a bad, fashion-y way! they're giving italians a bad name!!

  19. sonja: I'm from Chicago but my father is from Denmark so I've always been really drawn to European culture :) Wien was the last stop for my friend and I, so we totally enjoyed the nightlife there (not to mention the delicious wieners you can purchase at 3:00am...interpret that however you like, Rich!). The weather was absolutely gorgeous, warm and sunny...we really lucked out! Highlights for me include the Nashmarkt on Sat. afternoon (radlers in hand of course), delish cake and coffee at Demel, walking around the grounds of Hofburg Imperial Palace (the scenery and architecture in general is just so beautiful), Schonbrunn Palace and last but certainly not least, my personal fave experience, the Heurigen in Grinzing. OH! Too much fun! We left for home just before the Euro Cup was starting, I was so pissed. Totally would have paid big bucks to see some of that hot shorty-short action in person!!

Rich and sonja: regarding Italy, I really felt like Venice pulled some seriously high percentages in terms of hot men/women and good fashion (maybe 95% of every person that walked by was worth a second look. Seriously.) Rome, on the other hand, was much more good, bad, and everything in between. So I definitely think it depends on where you are! Just my two cents :)

  20. johanne, that sounds like a great trip! You've clearly visited all the good spots!

But I gotta tell you, Vienna was madness during the EURO 2008... painted Spaniards everywhere! o_O

Still I was glad when the fortnight was over. The crowds made me crazy. LOL

Unfortunately I've never been to Chicago, but friends have told me it's great. Hope I'll see it some time!

  21. he's hot in an uglier version of eric mabius kinda way.

  22. johanne: as a struggling blogger in these tough economic times i gladly accept your two cents. many thanks!

sonja: "Vienna was madness during the EURO 2008... painted Spaniards everywhere! o_O" - *faints, comes to, faints again*

anon: interesting comparison but i just can't say the words "hot" and "jurgen" in the same sentence. wait - i just did. it's the end of days!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Rich: my pleasure. i love your blog!

sonja: i think i would have put up with the madness if it meant being surrounded by painted spaniards...yum! ;)
