PHOTO OP: Venus, Serena and Sharapova hit up Hollywood

So amalzing (that's for you, Penny) to see Venus Williams out and about, looking full-on gorge at last night's Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood. Since she hasn't returned yet to the courts yet, this outing is the next best thing. And she got the leg memo.

Looks like Serena Williams got the memo on the old Hollywood theme last night if her mermaid dress is any indication. She worked her curves and loved every minute of it. Feeling the color, too.

Before. And after. All in a nights work for the Russian glamazon Maria Sharapova. But, if anyone saw the person who shredded up Shrieka's dress and left her with a nightie, let her know. Would you, please?

FASHION FIX: Lady baller looks from pre-Wimbledon party purple carpet

Here we go again. The lady ballers of the WTA tour attended the annual pre-Wimbledon party at the Kensington Rooftop Gardens in London last night with the usual mixed results (read: HOT, NOT AND WTF WERE THEY THINKING?!). Ahem.

Maria Sharapova looked incredibly chic in her red Alexander McQueen dress. The cut-outs on the shoulders are fucking brilliant. But what really pulled the whole look together were the stunning accessories including the gold collar, cuff and shoes by British accessories designer Lara Boinc and the clutch by McQueen. So delish.

More purple carpet looks with commentary (duh) after the jump!

Serena Williams attends MET gala, alleged stalker arrested

Serena Williams arrived wearing Oscar de la Renta at the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” Costume Institute Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last night. Anyone else think she was even little bit inspired by last week's Royal Wedding? C'mon, the dress in white, the hat? Really?? Okay, fine.

In other, more scary, ReRe news a man was arrested early Tuesday morning in Palm Beach County where both she and Venus reside for allegedly stalking the 13-time Grand Slammer. He was picked up while trying to enter the community where she lives and apparently told police he knows her whereabouts because he follows her updates on Twitter. Scary.

Check out the video news report below. There's also another shot of ReRe from the MET Gala after the jump - click the head:

SIGHTING: Serena wears purple, talks pink

Serena Williams, looking gorge in purple, was spotted in New York last night at the launch of the 2012 Range Rover Evoque at Highline States. She spoke to People Style Watch at the event and explained her now infamous pink body suit moment:
After my hematoma, I have to wear something like a long bodysuit to keep my stomach warm. My practices are really … interesting right now.
Apparently it also helps with compression, too. She went on to admit that her recent setback hasn't done any favors for her off-court stylings:
I have to wear flats. Hopefully, in the summer I can wear heels. I am a girl that loves heels. I can’t wait.

SAY WHAAAT??? I'm confuzzled guys. Isn't she wearing heels in the photo above? Am I crazy? TELL ME I'M NOT CRAZY. Doctor is not going to be happy with these photos. Nice gams, though.

SIGHTING: A double dose of Serena Williams on Oscar night - which one was better?

Serena Williams is never one to miss a Hollywood party, especially in celebration of the Oscars. The 13-time Grand Slammer was spotted watching The King's Speech win Best Picture at the 19th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party last night in this gorge fringe tiered strapless A-line dress. I love that she kept the accessories to a minimum and let this beautiful dress speak for itself.

Afterward, ReRe decided to go old-Hollywood for the 201l Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Graydon Carter and changed out of that black beauty into another strapless gown, this time in pink with a sweetheart neckline and gold accessories. But what's up with the black nail polish (I wonder if it's from Glam Slam, her collab with OPI?) I'm not loving the combo at all. Perhaps I'm asking a little too much of ReRe to have pulled up her pantyhose on a full wardrobe change while also slapping on a complementary nail color (more like someone slapping it on her.) Perhaps.

I guess if I had to choose between the two versions of ReRe, though, I would pick the first one - it all worked very well together while the silhouette showed off her figure nicely. As for the stick straight locks with the blunt bangs? SO OVER.

PHOTO OP: Wozniacki, Serena and Federer take in Fashion's Night Out show

Caroline Wozniacki, Serena Williams and Roger Federer joined Vogue editrix and FedKad Anna Wintour, supermodels Gisele Bundchen + Naomi Campbell and actresses Julianne Moore + Blake Lively for "Fashion's Night Out: The Show at Lincoln Center", the largest public runway show in NYC organized by Wintour, which kicked off Fashion Week in New York City.

The show featured a closing performance of the single "Hot-n-Fun" by N.E.R.D. at the top of Lincoln Center's fountain.

It's always great to see the ballers who are competing take part in the fun + frivolity of Fashion Week and grab some time away from the pressures of the US Open.  I'm sure it's a good distraction, at least for a night.

PHOTO OP: So what does tennis taste like?

Last night I took my first nose dive into being a member of the press on a red carpet line (though this one was green) for one of the biggest pre-US Open events of every year: Taste of Tennis sponsored by BNP Paribas! Some of the biggest ballers in the world teamed up with a number of the world's top chefs for great food, a few cooking lessons and lots of partying all to benefit the New York Junior Tennis League.

It was strange being on the other side of the rope after having spent many working hours as a publicist producing and managing events like TOT. That being said I was prepared for some moments of calm followed by an intense crush of celebrity arrivals, flashing bulbs and yells of, "Victoria, to your right!" and "Andy, just a few questions please!" Oh, that might have been me and it didn't work. A-Rod wasn't in the mood for talking - just cooking with chef, TV host and Billy Joel ex Katie Lee.

The first arrivals on the carpet were the chefs including Lee, Fernando Navas of SushiSamba, John Villa of Tao and Bart Vandaele of Belga Cafe. The ballers were next up and the first to arrive was Victoria Azarenka followed by Christina McHale, Sorana Cirstea, Sabine Lisicki, Amer Delic,Vera Zvonareva, Gilles Simon with Thierry Tulasne, Andy Roddick and Kim Clijsters who was bravely working harem pants. Tennis Channel commentator and ex-baller Justin Gimelstob was also on hand and came through the line.

The pictures aren't the best quality - apologies! - because I literally had my hands full, but I achieved my big objective which was to record some interviews with the ballers. Vika, Sora, Lissie, Bepa, Kimmie and Gimel were gracious enough to stop by and answer some questions about tennis and food so look out for that video (edit: click here to see the interviews) shot and and now being edited by my friend Sam Zalutsky (www.SaZamProductions.com).

Oh yes, Grammy-winning musician and supremely handsome John Legend was also in the house for the evening. *sigh*

Once the green carpet arrivals were complete we headed up to the main event on the second floor. For some reason I had been told press was not allowed into the party but all that was required was a showing of our media credentials and we were in. The venue was packed with what must have been 150-200 people. The food was extraordinary as you can imagine and the music and drinks (not to mention the cute boy factor) were off the charts. Sam and I stopped by every food station to sample the world-class offerings save for some of the desserts.

While at the party I spotted Brad Gilbert, Sven Groeneveld, Lissie, sexy Sergey Demekhine (coach to Bepa and an ex-model) and Fernando Verdasco, who waved me off for his dinner plate when I asked for a picture *super sad face*. The only other sighting of the night was Mardy Fish carrying a bag and racquet as he headed out of the W Hotel.

All in all it was an awesome night. I can see why this event is one NOT to be missed!

(UPDATED) SIGHTING: Serena Williams joins Burberry in Beverly Hills

Speaking of Serena Williams, she and the Party Watch made an appearance at her fave design house of the moment - BURBERRY -  and their Beauty garden tea party in Beverly Hills yesterday. Here she is getting photographed and shrinking the label's creative head Christopher Bailey and actress Kate Bosworth.

The top lady baller has been sporting their duds frequently this month so I'm sure they were thrilled to have her at their event. But all this partying can't be great for an injured foot - or maybe she knows something we don't know.

More images of ReRe at the Burberry party after the cut.

UPDATE: ReRe will undergo foot surgery and, consequently, miss Istanbul, Cincinnati, and Montréal. You can see the bandaging on the top of her right foot near the ankle in these pictures and here. "I'm so upset I won't be able to play in the upcoming events because of this foot surgery," said the world's top lady baller. "Thank you for all of your support. I can't wait to get back on the courts." You see? I knew this was a dumb idea. Tsk, tsk.

(UPDATED) PHOTO OP: Serena Williams ramps up Party Watch, hosts pre-ESPY event

The Serena Party Watch was in full effect last night as the world's top lady baller hosted a pre-ESPY party in Bel Air, CA.

A Burberry-clad ReRe, which seems to be her fave design house ATM after she worked their dress at the Wimbledon ball earlier this month, was joined by sister Venus (who the WTA - yes that WTA - tweeted was Selita Ebanks) and a bevy of athletes, celebs, reality stars and musicians at the event.

She is nominated for the Best Female Athlete and Best Tennis Player Awards. The 2010 ESPYS will be televised live on ESPN this Wednesday, July 13 at 9PM EST.

More images from the event below!

UPDATE: So Venus Williams had a slight wardrobe malfunction. It's still not as bad (or good?) as ReRe's.

MEDIA MASHUP: The WTA girls get glitzy (sorta) at pre-Wimbledon party

The annual pre-Wimbledon party was held at The Roof Gardens in West London's Kensington last night and the lady ballers of the WTA came out to play.

Check out the photos and fashion from the night. There are also a couple of videos at the end: an inside look at the evening's action and Maria Sharapova answering fans Facebook questions with some cute Brit (who IS that?)

So my overall thought on the evening's fashion is the usual: the WTA needs to hire me as their resident stylist. Oh and they need to hire a make-up artist. No one, I mean NO ONE, should have to deal with sock/strap lines or, worse, putting their face on while traveling in a car to the event. Get it together. (Sorry to be so brief but I'm on deadline with another piece - feel free to leave your thoughts on the night's stylings in the DtL Peanut Gallery.)

Anyway, enjoy!

SIGHTING: Verdasco is so very at Costume Institute Gala

A dapper looking Fernando Verdasco was spotted wearing a chic, dark grey suit from the Calvin Klein Collection on the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala's opening of the 'American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity' exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum on Tuesday evening in New York City. He's currently starring in the sexy global ad campaign for the design house's X Underwear line.

Seriously can Nando ever look bad? He really pulls off a handsome look here which is SO much more than I could say for Tina Fey:

I bet there's one pissed-off person looking for his missing coveralls and I think I may have found him (he's got a hammer in his hand and isn't afraid to use it, btw.) I don't think he'll take them back though - the corset alteration might be a bit too much for him to take.

Damn you Liz Lemon. Damn you.

PHOTO OP: Ballers get their party on to celebrate start of Australian Open

Roger Federer

A number of big names hit the annual Australian Open Baller Party held at Breezes at the Crown Entertainment Complex including Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Rafael Nadal, and Jelena Jankovic. Up-and-comer Anastasia Pivovarova, who will be wearing the newly launched Maria Sharapova Collection this season, also joined in the festivities.

For once I can actually say most of them looked pretty stellar. Note to Nadal: Seriously?! Please hire a stylist STAT. You're off-court get up is all kinds of wrong, as usual.

Another baller party was held at the Long Room in Melbourne’s CBD. Nikolay Davydenko, Tommy Robredo, Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, Jarko Nieminen, and Agnieszka Radwanska made appearances at the event. Click here for images.

PHOTO OP: Serena Party Watch hits Gucci in NYC

Serena Williams has been busy pimping out her new book, "On the Line", and discussing her much-discussed US Open meltdown around the TV circuit.

But the 11-time Grand Slammer blew up the Serena Party Watch by visiting the Gucci flagship store in New York City last night to support the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (F.F.A.W.N.), the Italian lux brand's partnership with Grammy-winning singer Mary J. Blige.

The store is donating 10% of the day’s sales to F.F.A.W.N., in support of its mission to help all women gain the confidence and skills they need to reach their full individual potentials.
