PHOTO OP: Wozniacki, Serena and Federer take in Fashion's Night Out show

Caroline Wozniacki, Serena Williams and Roger Federer joined Vogue editrix and FedKad Anna Wintour, supermodels Gisele Bundchen + Naomi Campbell and actresses Julianne Moore + Blake Lively for "Fashion's Night Out: The Show at Lincoln Center", the largest public runway show in NYC organized by Wintour, which kicked off Fashion Week in New York City.

The show featured a closing performance of the single "Hot-n-Fun" by N.E.R.D. at the top of Lincoln Center's fountain.

It's always great to see the ballers who are competing take part in the fun + frivolity of Fashion Week and grab some time away from the pressures of the US Open.  I'm sure it's a good distraction, at least for a night.

FASHION FIX: Top ballers take in Spring 2009 New York Fashion Week

With all the hooplah surrounding the US Open the last two weeks, one could forget New York Fashion Week is happening right under our noses. Some of our fave ballers made their way to Bryant Park in Manhattan to check out some of the latest trends and styles for Spring 2009.

Newly crowned US Open champion Serena Williams continued to smile uncontrollably a day after earning her ninth major as she joined Ivana Trump backstage at the Luca Luca show.

Sister Venus, a fashionista in her own right, grabbed a photo op with suspiciously smooth-faced Oscar winner Renee Zellweger backstage at the Carolina Herrera runway show.

Injured Maria Sharapova, who also took in some Paris haute couture fashion after her early Wimbledon loss this summer, spent more of her off-time at a few shows recently.

The Russian was spotted in the front row of the Herve Leger show working the navy Bandage Dress featuring crystal accents from his Fall 2008 collection.

Shrieka also made an appearance at the Peter Som show, one of her fave designers, wearing a dress from his 2009 Resort Collection.

But don't be fooled - she wasn't on babysitting duty here people. The Russian was joined in the front row by diminutive Olympic champion Nastia Luikin. Can she be any smaller?

But the ladies weren't the only ones feeling Fashion Week in New York. Manhattan couple Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker were joined backstage at the Lacoste show by golfer Cristie Kerr.

Is it me or is that over-sized alligator on A-Rod's shirt about to take nibble of Cristie? Buyers beware!

PHOTO OP: Maria drowns Wimbledon sorrows in haute couture fashion

Maria "Shriek"apova carried her Wimbledon blues to Paris where the Russian took in The City of Light's phenomenal Fashion Week. The 21-year old was spotted working a silver coat overtop a black pencil skirt and a pair of black heels at the Valentino 2009 Haute Couture runway show with her trusty sidekick Camilla Belle in tow.

Yes Maria its true: fashion can always mend a girl's (or boy's) broken heart...

FASHION FIX: Reformed Hantuchova hits runway for Madrid Fashion Week

Fashion-lovin' Daniela Hantuchova must have had another change of heart about the media's attention on her beauty and looks. The slender Slovak partnered with model Martina Klein this weekend to present the TCN Collection at the Florida Park Club as part of Madrid Fashion Week.

After many years of focus on her looks, a reformed Dani told The Independent last year, "I think, [...] that there is way too much emphasis on the way we look in sport in general. With the guys nobody bothers, except to say that Ronaldo has got a little bit heavy or something. But with the women, there is too much. Everyone has a different shape. People should focus only on the game."

Now she's shopping Versace and working fashion weeks. I guess a girl has a right to change her mind...again...and again...and again.

SIGHTING: Serena Williams checks out Tommy Hilfiger's Spring 2008 collection

Fashion fiend: Serena "ReRe" Williams continued her fashion-hopping ways this week. After getting front row duties at Zac Posen's show, the former tennis World No. 1 checked out Tommy Hilfiger's Spring 2008 collection. This time around, ReRe went the casual route, opting for a khaki cotton trench coat, chocolate brown scoop neck tee, and jeans. The hair, one of our favorite styles on ReRe, was still working as well.

FASHION FIX: Maria Sharapova checks out Fashion Week, works Peter Som

Maria "Shriek"apova, who lost early at this year's US Open, not only stayed in town to support "friend" Novak Djokovic during yesterday's men's final. The fashion fiend is also hitting Fashion Week in NYC and was spotted sitting in the front row of Peter Som's fashion show. Clearly, the Russian is a big fan of the designer having sported his duds at a pre-US Open event to benefit The Maria Sharapova Foundation.

We think she looks amazing in this chiffon graphic print dress from his Fall 2007 collection.
