As promised, Rafael Nadal and his abs have made their way to Montreal to begin training for next week's Rogers Cup.
So no knee tape = no knee issues? I guess we'll see.
UPDATE: Well, well. It looks like Rafa + I have more in common than our *cough* washboard bellies. *dies*

Tennis has not been the same without Rafa...I am SO HAPPY he is coming back and tennis needs him to stay healthy. I didnt realize how much I love him until he was gone...maybe even more than I loved Marat and that was alot!
ReplyDeleteAbout the tape... Rafa has said before that he stopped wearing the tape recently because it just wasn't doing any good.

weird that he was holding that babolat roddick drive, is he thinking of switching?

ReplyDeleteP.S. Don't expect to see the tape on his knees anymore. The issue was above his right knee, so taping below wasn't doing anything beneficial. He said if anything, it was just bothering him. Someone needs to let Johnny Mac know too. Because if I hear him talk about Rafa's knees and the lack of tape one more time, I will find a way to throw a shoe at his face. Seriously, you're a part of the tennis world. Get some info!!!

Hmm... from those pics, it didn't look like practice went too well. I want Rafa to make at least the semis so I can see him play live =P.

ReplyDeleteRich, any news on Rafa switching racquets? That was weird seeing him without the Aero Pure Drive.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard anything about a racquet model switch. It would be really surprising if he changed racquets at this point since he's quite sensitive (as are most ballers) to any changes in his equipment, gear, etc.
