Is this really Boris Becker's life or an episode of Gossip Girl?
The 6-time Grand Slammer reportedly told a live audience during an appearance on the popular German variety show “Wetten dass...” that he and on-again, off-again, on-again girlfriend Sharlely Kerssenberg will be getting married on June 12 in Switzerland. The pair were dating about 4 years when the German star broke it off via text message a day before his 40th birthday in 2007. How sweet.
Last summer Boris began dating Sandy Meyer-Woelden, the 24-year old daughter of his late manager Axel Meyer-Woelden and ex-girlfriend of Tommy Haas. The couple also became engaged until Sandy ended the relationship via what? You guessed it - a text message.
The tennis legend admitted to the audience he had "taken a wrong turn" and was forgiven by Sharlely shortly after his breakup with Sandy.
Boris + Lilly, I wish you all the happiness in the world. Oh, and lots of couples, and individual, therapy. You'll need it - just sayin'.
PS - Thanks Dophe!

OMFG! I saw this yesterday!
ReplyDeleteFor months he didn't say a peeps about anything private, is a total bitch about it and then - DANG! - he announces his engagement on the most viewed tv programm! What the hell???
I mean, I'm happy (kinda) for him and Lily, but WTF? was that with Sandy a few months, or is it weeks, back??
Oh well, maybe it's got something to do with his ex-wife, Babs, getting married as well?
Men... you just cannot understand them!
He's officially gone over the edge. But what's up with her taking him back after the text break up? I'm not sure which one has the bigger issue here.
ReplyDelete*sits confused*
Maybe they'll text each's wedding vows. That's original and romantic ;)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Becker is getting douchier by the minute. But she got herself into this.
Two words: train wreck.
ReplyDeleteThat is all.
WORD Rich - those two people apparently deserve each other.
ReplyDeleteThis screams "PR", seriously.
*sighs wistfully*
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody remember when Becker was actually known for his tennis?
To Natch:
ReplyDeleteNO
To Natch:
ReplyDeleteYes, which makes his bizarre behaviour even more disturbing. Come on, Boris, get it together! How am I supposed to listen to you commentating at Wimbledon if I keep thinking about this? The man has no consideration, LOL.
