Maria "Shriek"apova debuted her Nike tuxedo-inspired outfit today for her march towards a second Wimbledon title. The 2004 champion is currently battling Frenchie veteran Stephanie Foretz in the first round.
The outfit looks both elegant and comfortable - very fitting for her Wimbledon campaign. It also has some sexy touches with the sheerness of the top and the dressier shorty-shorts with an extended tab, which I definitely prefer. A blazer-style warm up jacket with a tie front brings the entire outfit together with confidence.
I really believe this type of design innovation is exciting and needed in tennis, not at every tournament, but for top ballers at the Grand Slams and even the year-end Championships.
Overall, a great moment for Nike + Maria.

me loves!
ReplyDeletetotally hot.
I didn't know if she could pull off the shorts quite like Venus, but they are very classy.
ReplyDeleteI was looking forward to seeing this but now that I have I must say I agree with Brad Gilbert that she's running a distant 3rd to Roger and Serena in the best dressed Nike player contest. I don't like it. I don't like the top, the sheer makes it look like a bad fit.

I really like those shorts and the shirt is also ok. But I really love the style of Serena at Wimbledon, thats so good!
ReplyDeleteI never like sheer with the a bra underneath. Maria almost pulls it off, but it would be so much better if the top was crisp and plain.
ReplyDeleteThe little blazer is pretty cute, and makes more sense on the court than Serena's trench (seriously, is a full length fur next?)
Now that's a fashion statement!
ReplyDeleteugly.
ReplyDeleteLike the shorts, wish the shirt weren't sheer.
ReplyDeleteI don't like her see-through top.It doesn't flatter her at all.I thought the top would be much better if it were just a simple tank.
ReplyDeletetop 3 best dressed baller @ Wimbledon 08 :
ReplyDelete1st Roger Federer (the shoes, the blazer, the belt, ... stylish !!!)
2nd spot is for Serena's trench coat (again nike, again very stylish and very serena)
3th spot for Maria. I simply adore the blazer but i'm not 100% sure about the top)
3 times nike and everybody is talking about them - speaking of marketing ...
Eat your heart out adidas !!!
Altough i saw one british baller wearing a nice adidas tee, ana definetely deserved a much nicer dress...
Well yes, it is ugly, but at least Nike is open to trying something new. Unlike the folks at Adidas.
ReplyDeletei actually hate this look.
ReplyDeleteWell..though Adidas tennis line is kinda boring,Adidas by Stella McCartney is fantastic. Hope the Stella line can open to other players as well as Maria Kirilenko.
