In an incredible effort by the host country, France can boast five players in the round of 16 at Roland Garros going one better than Spain who sit at four.
Julien Benneteau has the unenviable task of taking on Roger Federer, Gael Monfils goes up against Ivan Ljubicic, Michael Llodra battles up-and-comer Ernests Gulbis, Paul-Henri Mathieu faces Aussie Open champ Novak Djokovic, and Jeremy Chardy gets Nicolas Almagro.
Mouthwatering much?

I'm in love with Michael Llodra!!! Love love love him. He's so goofy and charming. He loves good wine, kissing his doubles partner passionately and throwing all his belongings into the crowd after a big win.
ReplyDeleteThe French players are probably the ones I'd most like to have dinner with on a weekly basis. They're all so quirky.
I'm also a big fan of Paul-Henri - I find the way he faces defeat inspiring.
True, Mika Llodra is the charmingest creature ever.
ReplyDeleteBTW, it's Vive la France! (not Viva la France - that would be the Spanish-French combo of a sentence).
wow good on france.
ReplyDeletealthough, chardy is out, llodra is out, mathieu is out, and benneteau is most likely out. so, its up to monfils.
