PHOTO OP: Richard + Gonzo share intimate post-match moment

Richard Gasquet + Fernando Gonzalez were spotted basking in the afterglow of their epic third round match in Melbourne.

The pair battled for four hours (and through Richard's broken toenail) with Gonzo eventually coming back from 2 sets to love down and saving a match point to defeat his Frenchie foe 3-6, 3-6, 7-6(10), 6-2, 12-10. He'll next face top baller Rafael Nadal for a spot in the Aussie Open quarterfinals.

It warms my heart (and a few other places) to see Richard + Gonzo get so touchy-feely with each other after the heat of the battle. Now I'm thinking Gonzo was trying to one up someone else entirely the other day.

  1. Why does Richard insist on breaking my heart?

  2. Seemed like Gasquet's toe was putrefying.

  5. That pic is something else...it was hard not to notice the closeness as I watched them at the net, but to see the moment captured like this is just so special LOL. Too cute.

Anyways, that match was INSANE. WOW! Gasquet broke my heart, as per youz, but you gotta love Gonzo's fighter spirit. Should be a great match between he and Rafa. I wonder who I'll be cheering for...hmmm... LOL jk. Hello! VAMOS RAFA! :)

  6. Now that's kinda hot.

And Gonzo vs. Rafa? Oh my. Yummy stuff!

Though I'm very sorry to tell you this Gonz, but Rafa will kick your butt! You better don't keep that pose from the other day... :D

  7. I'm talking about the epic losses. He should be able to walk onto court and hand his opponent an easy defeat yet he crumbles. I know that his toe was injured but the mental part played a huge role. I know that he doesn't see the point to a sports psychologist but he needs to see one. I'm willing to go with him. If he needs support and comfort my shoulder's here. ("shoulder," is open for interpretaion)

  8. TLG: LOL - isn't it always? I always offer my "shoulder" to men in need. As I always say, sharing IS caring.

The mental part is always the injured part of your boy's game. Do we know for sure he hasn't or isn't seeing someone right now? I've been saying that for a while too (and the he should ask Amelie for some references.)

  9. I really hope that he is or does get help. In an interview once, he explained his reluctance to get help by saying that he doesn't understand how seeing someone who has never been in his situation as a tennis player could help him.

I guess I need to become a professional tennis player and get a license to practice psychiatry. I alreade have a couch waiting for him.

  10. Thanks for the idea. And no offense, but we all know he will prefer my couch.

  13. So out of topic but did anyone see Tsonga's post-match interview with Jim Courier after his match with Almagro?

Courier: Do you have a girlfriend?
Tsonga: Ah no. I prefer men.

He was said he was kidding, but I loved that. His expression was too cute. LOL

  15. Ugh. Sorry for the double.

And it was meant to say: He said he was kidding.

    Gotta find that on YouTube.

But Tsonga was up against Sela... Monfils won against Almagro. Which of them do you mean ?
I'd love to see that too :D

  20. Oh right. Sorry, it was Sela.
