I didn't find more hairy situations, but I have a couple of things that you may find interesting:
ReplyDeleteIn the DC press conference, Feliciano Lopez looked kind of dishevelled, he looked tired and his hair was a bit messy (the horror!). I think he was really nervous, because he kept leaning against Ferrer and whispering things to him, and he covered his face with his hands. A journalist said that, judging by his long face in the training session, they thought the captain had picked Verdasco. That's not a good sign.
The other thing is that a journalist asked Nalbandian a question in English during the press conference and he refused to answer in English, saying "We're in Argentina". The same journalist that made the comment on Feliciano Lopez said that his behavior was appaling, but that it wasn't surprising coming from Nalbandian, because he's always mean to journalists. According to this journalist, only a few reporters go to his press conferences because he's really nasty. I didn't like him before, because he's always seemed arrogant to me, and I like him even less now. I saw the video, and it was disgraceful.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the long posts, but I thought this was interesting.
anon: thanks for the info - i'd love to see that nalby presser. i'm going to try to find it but feel free to forward it if you find it tips@downthelinetennis.com
