FASHION FIX: Clijsters takes Fila back to her childhood for Roland Garros

Kim Clijsters + Fila are going old school again.

In celebration of their 100th anniversary, the Italian sportswear brand is launching a new collection at Roland Garros inspired by a Fila outfit Kimmy received for Christmas as a child in the mid 1980's. It's part of a series of 100th anniversary commemorative Champions collections worn exclusively by the 4-time Grand Slammer that also includes the Evonne Goolagong-Cawley inspired kit she wore during her winning run in Oz.

The Fila design team actually combed their archives searching for the outfit based on Kimmy's description. Once they discovered it, the team went to work. They updated the color palette to something brighter for a more modern silhouette. The short-sleeve top, warm up jacket and visor were adorned with the signature print design from her childhood outfit while the F-box 100 year anniversary seal logo was placed inside each piece. And the team used Shiny Crinkle Taslin fabric to give the warm up a full-on 80's look and feel (oooh, I remember it well).

The Champions collection can be found at specialty retailers nationwide or at fila.com.

FASHION FIX: Rez finds more interesting uses for foil

Here's a sneak peek at what Aravane Rezai has chosen (no, she wasn't forced) to wear at this year's Wimbledon.

I thought her last outfit was horrific but she actually has outdone herself with this latest disaster. Clearly Rez likes big + bold as evidenced by her power game and colorful off-court commentary but these pieces, from what I can see, just look cheap. Not cheap chic a la H & M. Just cheap a la Ke$ha.

The warm up jacket wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't embellished to death but don't get me started on that skirt. I mean, she really loves foil as a fabric, huh? (see last outfit)

Listen up lady ballers: Keep it simple. For your sake and ours. I beg of you.

FASHION FIX: adidas by Stella McCartney keeps Wozniacki dusty + drab for Oz Open

Here's the new adidas by Stella McCartney get up Caroline Wozniacki will be wearing as she goes for her maiden major at the Australian Open next week.

She'll be working the Tennis Performance Dress ($150) in alloy (which is a light grey-blue colorway) featuring an embroidered floral motif on front paired with the biker-style Tennis Performance Hooded Jacket ($175) in slate green featuring a plethora of zippers, pockets and flaps.

To help with all those miles she'll be racking up playing her counter-punching (some would say "moonballing") style Wozzi will be wearing the Lucrari Tennis Performance Shoe ($185) in running white, aluminium + apollo. These trainers are based on the uber-popular adidas Barricade V's.

This dress has a much better fit + silhouette for Wozzi than the Tennis Dress she wore to last season's US Open and beyond which many of you despised. Add to this the embroidered floral motif and the whole look gives her a much needed feminine touch. However, they continue to outfit the fair-skinned Dane in colors that are dusty + drab which makes her look, uh, dusty + drab.

You're almost there Stella McCartney. Almost.

For a closer look at the pieces click here. AND, for a closer look at Wozzi's unshaven stems click here. Nice work adidas.

FASHION FIX: Nike gets loud with Fall 2009 John McEnroe Collection

Men's Ace T-shirt $30

Nike has just released the John McEnroe Collection for Fall 2009, a sporty group featuring shorts, warm up jackets, and accessories in bright colors and loud prints - how appropriate. The collection also showcases cheeky t-shirts with the tennis loudmouth's likeness and his most famous, dare I say infamous, saying, "You Cannot Be Serious!".

I love this collection because it's functional for on-court play but also has pieces which could be worn on the street. Plus, the design and detailing is inspired and truly captures the spirit and attitude of the 7-time Grand Slammer with its mix of performance + style.

Men's Checkmate Crew $50

Men's Ace T-shirt $30

Men's Checkmate Reversible Short $50

Men's Checkmate Hooded Jacket $100

Men's Checkmate Knit Pant $90

Air Zoom Trainer $80

FASHION FIX: Andy begins Wimby campaign in high style

Andy Murray made his first foray onto the hallowed grounds of Wimbledon's Centre Court as he begins his campaign for a first Grand Slam title.

The Brit baller struggled early on against Robert Kendrick and dropped the second set in a tiebreaker. However, he closed the last two sets out more easily completing a 7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-4 win over the American. Stats: 58% first serve, 20 aces, 52 winners against 19 errors, and 19 of 22 net approaches.

Andy also debuted the Fred Perry outfit he revealed last week in London. However, instead of the cream tennis sweater the third seed was donning a crisp looking cream warm up jacket:

I thought the only bonus we'd get from this great FP gear would be a little more leg with the shorter shorts (and we still do - thankfully) but I was wrong. I HEART this jacket in a major way.

*dies*

IMO, best boy's outfit this year. Period.

PS - I vote for "Murray's Mound" instead of "Mt. Murray". Anyone wanna join me?!

FASHION FIX: Shrieka defeats Viktoriya, goes ultra minimal in Nike

She's all business this year.

Maria Sharapova dropped her shorty-shorts and other fashion foibles from last year's disastrous Wimbledon and has gone decidedly demure in her attempt at a second title at The All England Club.

The 2004 champ went down in more ways than one - two double breaks in the first set and two awkward slips on the slick stuff - to Viktoriya Kutuzova but managed to eek out a 7-5, 6-4 win. She'll next face Gisela Dulko for a spot in the third round.

So there's not much to say about the white Nike tank dress Shrieka's working her besides the subtle gold trimming that zig-zags around the dress - pretty. However the "warm up jacket", like Fed's, looks military inspired though she looks more like a drum majorette - not pretty.

I have to say I'm really liking her Nike satchel actually. It has an interesting graphic and adds some punch to an otherwise "meh" outfit.

I can't believe I'm saying it but I want those shorty-shorts back...and not for me, silly.

FASHION FIX: Fed feeling good, goes tailored military in opening match

Roger Federer made his Wimbledon Centre Court debut today in his usual flair (couldn't Nike get him a better bag this year?) for his match against Chinese Taipei's Yen-Hsun Lu and his quest for a sixth Championship and record-breaking 15th major.

The 5-time champ was in solid form today disposing of his foe 7-5, 6-3, 6-2 while hitting 10 aces, 42 winners against only 10 errors, making 19 of 23 net approaches, and connecting on 71% of his first serve deliveries. Nice moves. He'll face Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the next round.

Fed also debuted the Nike gear I previewed last week but it's what was covering those duds that made the story. He came out working a military style jacket featuring patch pockets on the front and white warm up pants while underneath he wore a sneaky white vest with gold piping:

Good thing for the RF's every-friggin-where or he might have been mistaken for staff at The All England Club. Phew.

All in all, it's very "Fed at Wimbledon" though the military themed jacket paired with a tailored vest is a strange combo.

Here's a closer look at the Nike Zoom Vapor VI Tour Men's Tennis Shoe featuring the "5" for his five Wimbledon titles.

Hmmm - it seems Jude Law likes what he sees...

FASHION FIX: Nole says "buh-bye" to blue, hello to red with adidas Falcon collection

Novak Djokovic will be hoping do better this year than last when he was dumped out of Wimbledon's second round by Marat Safin. And, while he made the final Sunday in Halle he continued his losing streak in championship matches earning his fourth consecutive defeat this time to Tommy Haas. A mental hurdle much?

For his campaign, the Serb will be continue to showcase duds from the adidas Falcon line but, luckily for us, Nole has dropped the eye-sore blue for red - phew. The collection features the brand's trademark ClimaCool fabrication which pulls heat and sweat away from the body and allows air to circulate close to the skin.

He'll be working the Men's Edge Top (above, $46) paired with the Men's Edge Bermuda Shorts (below, $37)

Nole will also be arriving on court wearing the Edge Warm Up Top ($53).

Here are the new kicks Nole will be wearing during his campaign for his first Wimby Championship: the Genius CC Novak sneakers in white/red/brown ($118).

FASHION FIX: Rafa gets powdered + pretty for Nike ad campaign - can you stand it?!

Thanks to DtL reader Maja for this incredible Rafael Nadal find!

Okay Rafanatics: brace yourselves. Your boy took part in a ad campaign photoshoot for Pure Nike's Eugene Track Jacket (which Fed was working in Kooyong this week) and along with images there's an interview with Rafa himself:

What does victory mean to you?
Well, victory is something that I like, but it isn’t everything for me. For me victory is really important, especially in some moments, but it is not everything. Many times if I am playing well, I am satisfied with myself, even if I lose in the end.

Which words would you choose to describe the meaning of victory?
Triumph to do my best

What has been your greatest victory on and off the court?
The final in Wimbledon is the one that caused the greatest stir. And outside the court, I am lucky to have a great family, this is a victory, I guess.

Where you familiar with the photographer Rankin before today’s shooting?
No. It was different from the other shootings, in particular the powder shoot. I had fun - but not now that we have finished because I am full of powder everywhere!

What does Pure Nike mean to you?
Well, Nike is different from the other brands. It is a special brand, always innovative, and I think that this fact, the fact of being so innovative, makes it different from the others.

Is there any athlete that represents Pure Nike for you? And why?
Tiger Woods. I like his image with Nike.

How was the shoot today?
It was really special with all that powder and the set they have built. It has been different from the other shootings, much more fun.

Can you walk us through the sense of victory and what it means to you?
I do not know how to explain it, it deals with feelings hard to describe. I guess, the most important thing is the personal satisfaction, and the excitement that you feel in that special moment.

How was the Olympic victory different from the others?
The victory at the Olympic Games has a special meaning. When you are playing outside Spain, you know that you are representing your country, you are representing Spain. Really, during the Olympic Games, when you are representing Spain at 100 %, it is a very special victory.

And where would you place it in the list of your accomplishments?
I think that I would place the Olympic Games next to the five grand slam titles.

More images below and here. Are you dying yet?!

FASHION FIX: Serena joins Venus to launch EleVen at Tenjune in New York

Though she put on her best PR face at the Sony Ericsson Player's Party last weekend, Serena "ReRe" Williams was all genuine smiles at sister Venus' launch party for her fashion line EleVen at Tenjune in New York last night. The 120-piece collection hits Steve & Barry stores today.

We're liking V's metallic waist-coat matched with the dark skinny jeans and black t-shirt. Not too dressy or casual - just the right mix. And ReRe? The usually fickle fashionista looks like she just rolled out of bed. What's with the wrinkled dress and choppy bob? That's a no go ReRe...
