I've been looking to add someone to my team and I've decided to spend some days with Paul Annacone. As Paul winds down his responsibilities working for the Lawn Tennis Association, we will explore our relationship through this test period. Annacone, eh? I think I'll take the wait-and-see approach. I still like Mary Jo. She can work miracles, and because of the hubby, she is practically at Roger's house 24/7. Why not pick her brain?

@natch: Do you think he'd be down with having a female coach? I get the feeling he'd balk at the idea.
ReplyDeleteI don't know him, but it appears to me that he listens better to women than to men. The beauty of Mary Jo is, he wouldn't ever have to make an official announcement. If she's in the box, so what? We've seen her there before. If she's on the practice courts, same deal. She's "part of the team" they could say. If he starts improving and is pleased with the arrangement, then they could make an official announcement. He can hide behind her skirts until then.
