Not to be outdone in the blue dress debut department, Jelena Jankovic showcased her new ANTA gear during her opening round match at Roland Garros today. The slidin' Serb cruised past Czech Petra Cetkovska 6-2, 6-3 and will face Slovakian Magdalena Rybarikova in the second round.
I def liked this dress when I previewed it late last week and I have to say it didn't disappoint especially now that we can see the interesting design on back:
This choice is much better than the ANTA dresses she's been wearing of late and I'm excited they gave JJ something special to wear in Paris.
So whose blue dress debut did you like the best: JJ's or Shrieka's?
DO TELL!

I prefer it in the preview. The back reminds me of a child's bathing suit. I still love the color.
ReplyDeleteThere is some rumor in online forums that Rafa hurt his knee during practice. It was reported on Roland Garros Radio. Does anyone know about this?
ReplyDeleteIt is all a rumor at this point.
I was not impressed with play yesterday at all. Too many unforced errors, like Madrid final.
Love the color, and the front. The back looks good in your photo, Rich, but I'm with Sara on the back (as far as what it looks like on television.) Sara, thanks for putting that into words. I knew there was something I didn't like, but couldn't figure out if it was that print or not.
ReplyDeleteMaria's dress is Hid.E.Ous.
I really like JJ's dress compared to Shrieka's.
ReplyDeleteJJ wins hands down!!!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is great from the front and acceptable from the back! Would have preferred some better print, but you can't have it all!
definitely JJ's!
ReplyDeleteNo no, def Sharapova's dress. I know it's a bit of a strange dress, but she can def pull it of. While JJ is still showing those simple and ugly babydresses, just not anything special.
ReplyDeleteI like the pattern across her stomach, trying to be kind of Greek in theory or something...but I dislike the pattern on her back. Nice color!
ReplyDeleteMasha's dress for sure.
ReplyDeleteI don't like JJ's at all. That pattern in the back, to me, looks a little old fashioned, rather than fresh (which i believe is what ANTA intended to do...Zheng's dress is by far better). Then...that blue. Not a fan.
The blue that is used in Masha's dress is actually nice (i'm not too sure about that gauze fabric...seriously Nike, wtf is up with all that gauze!?) It looks quite good when Masha is not moving, but when in motion...it just gets too messy. So yeah, Masha's dress.
The color looked striking on JJ, but the what's up with the pattern design on the back?? I agree, it looks somewhat old...
ReplyDeleteSo I prefer Shrieka's, she keeps the color simple, with a sense of elegance at the design.
Ugly, thin flimsy material and typically fussy and over-done. Just what I'd expect of JJ and Anta.
ReplyDeleteI think Masha's dress looks great on her, but overall I prefer JJ's. Probably purely because normal people could pull it off and I'd look ridiculous in Masha's dress...
