QUOTE OF THE DAY: Nando on Murray

Right now Rafa and Andy are the two best players. This year for sure if things carry on as they are, he will finish No 2 in the world.

- Fernando Verdasco on Andy Murray's ranking prospects

Agreed. Andy's already the World No. 2 in terms of wins and his game but surely by EOY he'll officially be the second-ranked baller. No question.

  1. Agreed. And if he finishes at number two he'll deserve it fully.

  2. Nando is right, but can we at least wait & see what Murray does at RG & Wimbledon first? He has yet to prove himself there.

  3. i'd like to adopt a wait and see attitude, it's still too early to say. we're still in the first 3-4 months of the year, there are 3 more grand slams and a couple of other tournaments left. who knows, maybe nole, roger or even nando's (!) results can still pick up.

  4. how ridiculous to say 'no question' when it's only April.

  5. I agree with everyone. Andy is playing amazingly well and has even gotten the best of Rafa a few times but it's still April. We mustn't forget that last year Nole started really well, winning a major and threatening Rafa for the number2 spot, and then there was quite a slip in his results. The same may happen to Andy. I'll predict the year end rankings in November.(;

  6. I'm a big Andy fan (game not pastiness) and I think he can do it. Maybe it's more hope than anything or that I think he deserves it but in any case the race is on!

  7. He has yet to prove himself in grandslams where it matter!And if by some chance hell ever be nos 2 or nos 1 by the end of the year then gosh how sad for the tennis world and for the tennis fans to have such a humdrum world nos.1!tsk tsk tsk

  9. it's great to see that all of andys hard work is paying off. I know it's only clay season, but I feel Wimbledon is Andys best chance at a grandslam win this year. Grass suits his game. But does anyone know for sure the color of andys eyes???? I am guessing a grey-blue??? I am just asking because I never noticed until this picture what beautiful eyes he has.

  10. Rich, I totally agree with you and The Parrot. Andy definitely has the talent and game and determination to do it. He's a fighter, and he's mentally strong. I'll surely be rooting for him! :))

  11. Yeah, he has that posibility,his game is progressing rapidly, and he is still growing as a player, and is willing to learn and change(oppose to real no2) but c'mon, no question about it is just no way.It's to early to say no question about something regarding EOY.
    I hope that will not happen, and Federer will wake up and show his game to us and opponents, and get rid of his errors and mental head.
    Let's bring tennis into the picture, and then calculate, this way one player is limping but is still full in the game.Confusing tennis times.
