PHOTO OP: Sharapova and Ice Rink attend the Sony Ericsson Challenge
Maria Sharapova and her fave accessory (no not Sasha) took part in the Sony Ericsson Challenge at the Plaza del Callao in Madrid, Spain today. She's there not only to participate in the clinic but also to compete in the Mutua Madrid Open next week.
So as I mentioned in the headline Ice Rink was in attendance during the event - there's even a close up shot of it. But, the photog focused the lens on Shrieka so the ring isn't as sharp in the shot. I mean, REALLY. Priorities, photogs. Priorities:
Still nice. I guess.

(UPDATED) SIGHTING: THE PRECIOUS
The at-some-point-to-come-they-will-be-married couple, Maria Sharapova + Sasha Vujacic, were spotted by the stalkeratti taking in some lunch in LA over the weekend. It was the couple's first public appearance together since their engagement news broke last week.
I know my handy work above isn't ready for prime time but even from that close up we can all see the boy's got some basketballin' bank. He hooked Shrieka up with an ice rink any girl would be thrilled to lug around. At least that's my guess. I, for one, am not really into huge, showy pieces like this one, but at least it's not at Mirka level (by the looks of it her ring was ready to launch.)
Speaking of huge, when these two are standing side-by-side they seem so normal size, huh? But, alas, they're not. It's all MAGIC.

UPDATE: According to a jewelry expert, the Precious is "approximately 7 to 8 carats on a thick, split-shank platinum band." Cost? A cool $250,000. Put that in the pre-nup. (via USMagazine.com)

(UPDATED) PHOTO OP: Mirka debuts ice rink in Monte Carlo, retires ice cube
Mirka Vavrinec (Federer?) was spotted working an ice rink on her ring finger while watching now husband Rog defeat Andreas Seppi in the Monte Carlo second round and raising his head-to-head against the Italian to 5-0. He'll next face compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka for a spot in the fourth round.
Although I couldn't zoom in close enough without losing too much picture quality, you can see the ring is MAMMOTH. I'm surprised Mirka could even raise that hand to clap even though she already gets a good arm workout with the Crackberry. Nice moves, Rog.
And just so we can see the big improvement, here's Mirka at the Oz Open back in January working an ice cube:
Oh, and thanks to a few readers who alerted me to the fact the couple are expecting a boy but still have yet to pick out a name. Don't they know it's already been chosen via the DtL Peanut Gallery? Like, duh.
UPDATE: Damn, Crackberry's going to PISSED once Mango arrives - you know, lack of attention and all. Wait! Mirka will put it down, right?

SIGHTING: Brooklyn supports Andy, shows off engagement rock
For the ladies: Here's a look at the ring Andy Roddick gave fiancee Brooklyn Decker after proposing last week. The swimsuit model was spotted supporting her man as he battled past Ivo Minar yesterday at the Sony Ericsson Open.
Pretty nice rock, eh?
