Here's the official TV commercial for the 2010 Australian Open starring Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Lleyton Hewitt, Serena Williams and Sam Stosur. And they're splish-splashing blue paint.
That's it.

The sad thing is someone was paid a lot of money to come up with that; stock footage from the last one and a bit of blue, y'know, like the sea.
ReplyDeleteThey should have given us the budget and once we had made sure everyone had had their rum quotient, come up with something much better...although probably not for the players. The things we'd have them doing. Ahem.

I live here in Oz & what a piece of blue crap. I agree anon, give us the budget, some fans, players, party atmosphere, some back rooms & well um come to think of it nothing G rated will happen. More like X rated. Yummmmmmmmmmmm!
ReplyDeleteI really like the blue paint thing but it's weird against an all-white background and even though it's cool it's not cool enough to get away with the bare-bones nature of the ad.
ReplyDeleteHow about a few other ballers who actually won the damn thing like, uh, Nole, Shrieka, MoMo, Marat????? I get Lleyton + Sam but I mean REALLY.
ReplyDeleteI do like t's suggestion - I would've used blue body paint my ownself. Not on myself, but, well...fine, on Rafa.
I also thought of Marat, and then I realized that he wasn't going to be at the AO next year. Total, absolute sadness :(
ReplyDeleteBut if he's willing to shoot a commercial, I volunteer. I don't need any other player, just him.
meli
i actually love it.
ReplyDeleteYAWN. This is so lame. We COULD come up with much better things!
ReplyDelete"The things we'd have them doing. Ahem."
LOL... so true, t! :D
Now, as for the blue body paint idea... I'm sure Rafa would be up for it, I mean he has been covered in red powder already afterall.
*gets out blue paint*
ReplyDeleteRafa, I'm on my way for a re-shoot!
Fortunately the blue paint is just 3D post production animation.
