Thanks to DtL reader Meri for send me this link of Rafael Nadal arriving at the Palma de Mallorca airport after his stirring win at the Aussie Open.
The world's top baller is seen being mobbed by the media and also by some eager fans including one woman who breaks through the crowd to plant a wet *smooch* on the Matador's right cheek only to have him wipe it right off!
Gotta give the rabid Rafanatics credit, though. You can't keep 'em down though Rafa may want to try - you never know what they may do when given the chance (seriously, just check the comments section here for some detailed ideas...if you dare.)
CHECK IT:
UPDATE: Thanks to Barcelona2012 for sending me the link to photos of the incident in question. Rafanatics - which one of you is the culprit? Announce yourself!

Oh, my.
ReplyDeleteThere's hope yet, Rafanatics. If one can do that, the rest of us can.
Translation: Natch, I told you, the restraining order works in Espana, too.
ReplyDeleteSrsly, he just wiped his cheek and didn't even look to see who kissed him. I would at least look...ya know...to see if they were worth more than a peck...;)
there is another video where it shows that the same girl kissed him but on another cheek. so she really went for it ;)
ReplyDeleteAw, he looks so disturbed and embarrassed. That woman was clinging to him like a koala, haha! Respect!!
ReplyDeleteBut me thinks this was going through his mind: "Dammit natch, I told you - not in public. Xisca always watches the news. OK, I'll just pretend I couldn't care less. Although I cannot think straight with her saliva on me. Gotta wipe that baby right off. See? I'm all innocent and anti-womanizing."
Anon, with "on another cheek", do you mean, like, his ass-ets?? o_O
ReplyDeleteHe. is. SUCH. a cool man.
ReplyDeleteL.O.V.E.
sonja,
ReplyDeleteBWHAAAAAA!!!!!
Love your Rafa-Psychicness. And the ass-et comment. If that's what the other vid shows, then yep, it IS me! ;)
Poor Rafa, he doesn't like it at all. I kind of understand him, if I were famous I didn't want all the man the jump on me ;) maybe a few, but not all ;)
ReplyDeleteEEP! I just want to jump in and (jump him) keep him safe!
ReplyDeleteI flove Rafa. I FLOVE HIM. But, I would never, NEVER, ever, never invade his personal space like that without his permission. Respect people. I would never tolerate someone doing that to me famous or not, hotter than the sun itself or not, lawsuit certain or not, if someone complete stranger got that personal with me they are going down. I volunteer at an ATP tournament and I've met Rafa several times. I have stood right next to him and I have NEVER thought of him as deserving of any less human respect than what I would want. People are so selfish. If you really admire and generally care about the guy then you do not put what you want ahead of what he deserves. Disgusting people. Truly disgusting.
ReplyDeleteSo wait, Anon...are you saying you would jump him, too?
ReplyDeleteSo which one of you was it??? 'Fess up!!!
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:19: Um, I thought that was self-evident, no? I don't know who you mean by "people", but we were kinda just kidding around, you know. It's all good. LOL
ReplyDeleteRich,
ReplyDeleteI think it was Anon.
Erm, and how do we know it wasn't YOU? You pretty young thang, you. ;)
*burns ratty wig*
ReplyDeletewho me? i've been in nyc the whole time shoveling my stoop.
*pinky swears*
LOL I love that picture although I've noticed that Rafa generally looks uncomfortable doing anything besides tennis.
ReplyDelete-Lisa
no harm done really, coz the look he has in that picture is GOLD ;)
ReplyDeleteSojna, haha..i wouldn't know that much. but she got a picture with him, his autograph and got to kiss both of his cheeks (above the shoulders) ;)
ReplyDeleteI would definitely prefer to go below the shoulders...
ReplyDelete*points to natch*
The culprit.
I just realized.
ReplyDelete*burns ratty wig*
AAAAAAAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAH
LMAO @ Babzerella. I KNEW IT!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW, the picture is SOOOOO priceless. This could so easily be me next to him, hehe.
But it isn't! I'm NOT the culprit! NOT. (Dang)
man! knowing how private Rafa is these chaotic homecomings and especially the million and one microphones in his face seem to be a nightmare for him. i understand that being famous/an athlete you are in the spotlight, but he tries to humbly stay away without being rude. props to him for trying his best and not letting it affect him and his image. i believe he is one of the best in front of the camera and it's probably because of his dislike of the camera that it makes him even more mysterious and captivating.
ReplyDeleteplus, i really love his quotes ("Maybe I love more the fight to win, than to win.")
the wet kiss missed the target by 3 feet to the north. silly girl.
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Rafa looks so calm and his attacker looks so crazed! I guess his patented mental toughness applies to all situations.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous. There's not much more I can say... Wonder what went though his mind? She was probably not the first one! lol
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I just saw Rafa's Mallorca ad on MTV. Yeah right, MTV!?!? Guess there is sth good to them only playing faux reality sh!t and a whole lot of advertisements LOL!
But they fvcked up his voice badly! It's nothing like Rafa's! Boooo!
That is hilarious. He actually smiled after she kissed him like "I got some crazy a$$ fans" then wiped off wet kiss but not in a mean way.
