Rafael Nadal, who had fun with some fans at the Palma de Mallorca airport before taking off for Abu Dhabi yesterday, was spotted looking his usual engaged self at a pre-event presser for the Capitala World Championship.
It seems the Spaniard would rather be anywhere else on this New Year's Day, but I'm sure the appearance fee (and the possible $250K for actually winning this thing) will make everything MUCH better.
What the hell is Rafa thinking now???

If Rafa trying to eat his hand wasn't freaky enough, the direction the tip of his ring finger is going is giving me the creeps.
ReplyDeleteRafa's bendy fingers are legendary. Not only his ring finger, ALL his fingers can bend every which way; there are tons of pics showing it.

ReplyDeleteI read on his website that he spent nye on the plane. I have to say I kind of love this scruffy unshaven just got out of bed look. The hand gnawing is a bit strange though - the guy is seriously lacking in any self consciousness.

ReplyDeleteNadal's press conference pics are always hilarious. The different expressions on his face always remind me of Mowgli, from The Jungle Book, not Ashlee Simpson's baby, of course.

Sonja: The finger biting is just one of his lovely nervous tics like the wedgie picking. Mowgli is so gross - celebs live in their own world so I guess all their strangely-named kids will all hang with each other. Then, their names won't seem so strange anymore..."Mowgli meet Apple..."

ReplyDeleteI do agree that he looks oh so interested in being in Abu Dhabi as the rest of them, but they know that the money will get shorter in this credit crunch year, so they have to take what comes their way.
