PHOTO OP: Top ballers join compatriots for opening ceremonies in Beijing

The opening ceremonies for the XXIX Olympiad took place today in Beijing.

While some baller's personal issues kept them from partaking in the festivities, most of them joined their compatriots inside the National Stadium to watch the spectacular show.

Rafael Nadal (whose face might crack if he smiles any harder), birthday boy Roger Federer carrying the Swiss flag, Ana Ivanovic, Novak Djokovic, Lindsay Davenport, Andy Murray, and Fernando Gonzalez carrying the Chilean flag were spotted making their way through the throngs of world-class athletes and performers.

  4. Rafa looked like a kid in a candy store! He looked so freakin' happy to be there. And right behind him is Nico Almagro if I'm not mistaken? CUTE!

The Serbs look clean and fresh. Novak is getting cuter by the moment.

    LOVE.

  5. Lol I'm most distracted by the bags the Serbian ladies are carrying.

But all in all, great to see some tennis players amongst the sea of atheletes! Caught some of them while watching the ceremony live earlier today. =)

  9. Novak looked great. I didn't see that many ballers in the crowd and I was looking! I saw Caroline Wozniaki with her Denmark crew, Victoria Azarenka with Belarus, and Nenad with the rest of those hawt Serbs. Couldn't find Jelena even though she was supposed to have walked.
