FASHION FIX: Fila returns to its roots with the Heritage collection

Dmitry Tursunov - Men's Heritage Stripe Polo

Though their ballers didn't fare so well in Miami, Fila's fashion game turn returned to its winning ways.

The sports apparel brand went back into their archives to launch the Fila Heritage line at this week's Sony Ericsson Open. This line comes courtesy of the Spring 2009 collection and harks back to the heydays of the 1970's when Bjorn Borg's iconic look (LOVE), which featured signature Italian styling, brought the brand some of its greatest popularity. This time, however, the gear gets the 21st century treatment with state of the art performance fabrications.

Each piece features the F-Box Heritage patch logo and the quintessential Fila colors of red, white, and blue.

The men's Heritage Stripe Polo details include a self fabric collar, 4-button placket and side vents, a snap contrast placket and contrast piping. The collection also includes 8 ½ ” inseam shorts, jacket and warm-up pants and was worn by Dmitry Tursunov (top).

Anna Chakvetadze - Cami Tank

Anna Chakvetadze wore her fave cami-tank from the Women's Heritage collection during her matches in Miami. Details on this piece include ruching on the center front and contrast twist back straps. Chaky also showed up to the Fila Friday Night Q & A host by Cliff Drysdale working the Heritage Jacket.

For more information on the line visit Fila.com and check out Svetlana Kuznetsova + Janko Tipsarevic in the Heritage Collection (note to Tipsy: go with this look next time. Just sayin'.)

And a big shout out to the Fila PR team for all the info!

PHOTO OP: More from Marseille, Dmitry goes for Grigor

Dmitry: "Must...touch...abs..."
Grigor: "Uh, those aren't my abs you're going for baby."

So after yesterday's fun photos from Marseille, the ATP World Tour site is showing more images from Dmitry Tursunov, Grigor Dimitrov + Michael Llodra's visit to the DIESEL store in the French city.

First Michael's face-licking now Dmitry's "abs"-grabbing? The ATP seems SO fun! I'm def qualified to hold a position there (watch it.)

It's SO not fair. *pouts*

PHOTO OP: Dmitry, Grigor, his abs, and the gang send regards from Marseille

What a pretty postcard from Marseille!

Dmitry Tursunov, up-and-coming cutie (sans faux-hawk *yawn*) Grigor Dimitrov, and a gang of others including a face-licking Michael Llodra (below) took some time out of their Marseille schedules for some fun photos.

Okay one more time: where do I sign up for this ATP World Tour thing?

(NSFW) PHOTO OP: Dmitry's lady friend might be a porn star (or just loves her boobs a lot)

Thanks to DtL reader JD for sending over these fun and very revealing images of Dmitry Tursunov getting somewhat acquainted with a lady friend and her, eh, lady parts in the backseat of a car.

Boy those Russian ballers sure love to party. But does it always have to be with a wannabe pornstar?

PS - Dmitry does look kinda cute here, though. I might've shown him my boobs too...if I had some.

WEEKEND WINNERS: Tomas, Dmitry, JJ, Caroline, Sorana

Tomas Berdych - Tokyo

The Czech baller made quick work of a streaking Juan Martin del Potro hitting 11 aces and converting three of eight break points during his 6-1, 6-4 victory. It was his first title since Halle 2007 and still has an outside chance of making his first trip to Shanghai. Great win for Tomas but something tells me this isn't a harbinger of better things to come for the mentally shaky 23-year old.

Dmitry Tursunov - Metz

The eccentric Russian earned his fifth career title and second this year (Sydney) when he defeated Frenchie Paul-Henri Mathieu 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-4. Remember what I just said about Tomas and his win in Tokyo? Ditto for Dmitry.

Jelena Jankovic - Stuttgart

The Serb made her return to the WTA Penthouse complete this weekend when she dismissed Nadia Petrova 6-4, 6-3 for her third title of the year (Rome, Beijing). It was also the first time JJ won back-to-back titles in her career. I'd say she looks the best bet to end the year no. 1 with Serena Williams pulling out of Moscow with an ankle injury, though nothing is ever for sure with JJ.

Caroline Wozniacki - Tokyo

Caroline returned to her winning ways after falling in the opening round of her last two tourneys. The Dane knocked out Estonia's Kaia Kanepi 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 for her third title of the year and third of her career; it was the pair's first career encounter.

Sorana Cirstea - Tashkent

Sorana earned her maiden WTA title this weekend when she scraped out a
2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory over Sabine Lisicki. She was contesting her second final of the year after losing to Gisela Dulko in Budapest last spring.

A newfound hairy situation grows, facial fuzz takes over the ATP Tour

Feeling the fuzz: So, I touched on (or is it up?) Fabio Fognini's "Best 'Brows" moment last week and now I've stumbled upon a new kind of hairy situation on the ATP Tour - facial hair. Maybe I'm noticing the trend because I grew out my own facial fuzz recently, but there seems to be an affinity towards furry faces on our tennis ballers - goatees, beards, and everything in between.

The perpetrators include, beginning at left, previous hairy situation offender Jose Acasuso (still working the mullet) Dmitry Tursunov and Rotterdam titlist Michael Llodra.

Dmitry pulls off the sexy + masculine facial fuzz the best while Michael goes the clean-cut route. But, don't ask what's going on with Jose's - at least he's consistently bad, though.

PHOTO OP: US wins record 32nd Davis Cup championship

Congratulations to the US Davis Cup team for their determined three-and-out performance this weekend and a record 32nd Davis Cup title. Andy Roddick bullied Dmitry Tursunov 6-4, 6-4, 6-2, James Blake battled for a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-3) defeat of Mikhail Youznhy, and Bob and Mike Bryan clinched the championship defeating Nikolay Davydenko and Igor Andreev 7-6 (7-4), 6-4, 6-2.

We'd also like to give huge kudos to USA Today and Douglas Robson for having the guts to keep consistent coverage of the Davis Cup in the national spotlight.

+ FRIDAY NETCORDS: Roger, Dmitry, Marat, the fighting Hewitts...2008 Olympics news, David Beckham undresses and more

(image via smwarnke4)

- 2008 Olympics update: The surface for the '08 Olympics has been chosen - DecoTurf - which is the same surface used at the US Open. We know one player who is probably very happy about this decision: US Open champion Roger Federer who, surprisingly enough, has yet to sport the gold medal.

- Go vintage Borg in this reissued Matchday Jacket by Fila

- Meet DJ Dmi: Apparently Dmitry Tursonov can spin more than a tennis ball. The eccentric Russian is also a DJ and has posted his own mixes on his website. Check them out here!

- Should the tennis schedule revolve around having a "season" similar to baseball, football, or...football (soccer for our US readers)? ESPN.com ponders this question.

- Ain't no mountain high enough: Marat Safin is putting his tennis aside for another challenge. The 2-time Grand Slam winner is part of a Russian expedition team scheduled to climb Cho Oyu, the 8,201-meter (26,906 ft) mountain on the Nepal-Tibet border.

- We'll be sad to see you go, Guga, if you decide to hang up the rackets...

- The Hewitts are fighting: Never a dull moment in the Hewitt household, is there? The famous Aussie couple are being accused by Channel 7 program, Today Tonight, about failing to fulfill their commitment to building an orphanage in Cambodia.

- Are you suffering from having excess balls? Here are 17 innovate things you can do with the balls you've used and abused.

- Jon Wertheim is certainly making a name for himself. Not only does he cover tennis in-depth, the Sports Illustrated writer is interviewed here about his book on pool entitled "Running the Table".

- Mind over matter: Peter Bodo delves into the mind of Roger Federer to explore his uncanny ability to focus so intensely in the moment...very interesting.

- OFF TOPIC ALERT: Becks releases 2008 calendar, undresses for you
