Usually, it’s the aggressive playing style that makes me beat Rafa. And especially on the hardcourts, you know, I didn’t get that many chances if I look back. I’ve had so many more times on clay. You know, on a hardcourt I have to play aggressive against him. There’s no way around that. I know how I have to play him. I’ve beat him enough to know.

*sets out collection plate for therapy sessions for Roger*
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, maybe we should just have him committed somewhere? This is going to take serious work to fix.
Delusional.Stubborn as bull also, and signs of stupidity.I swear, if he doesn't get a coach ASAP, or if he continues to beat himself with 32432403294 UE whenever he loses, I'll grow horns.
ReplyDeleteHe's starting to bug me, big time, and I'm his fan, more then Rafa's, so as his fan, seeing his stubbornes grow is making me not even wanna watch or here about his SF or final matches/loses, it's nerve breaking.Damnit.How did he even dominate those 4 years, I wonder these days.He needs awakening, now.
*hear
ReplyDeleteRoger is really starting to get on my nerves...get a coach/phsyc, hits some balls, and keep quiet until you have something constructive to say Rog.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Roger is in serious DENIAL.
ReplyDeleteAnd I ROTFL'd when Roger's delusional quote was followed by that WTF expression on Rafa's face just below it.
Whatever, Fed. That's really all I have to say.
ReplyDeleteHilarious. Rog really needs to get a grip on reality. Someone call a psych asap...
ReplyDeleteWhen do you "usually" beat Rafa, Roger? You haven't beaten him since '07. Where in the 6-1 6-3 6-0 FO final scoreline did you have more chances? Wake up dude! Or better yet, keep sleeping. I love seeing Rafa win!
ReplyDelete"I've beat him enough to know"...?
ReplyDeleteOh denial, it's such a happy place. Shouldn't he be off crying at a Baby Gap somewhere?
I'm coming to terms with the fact that being a fan of Roger means having to make do with minimal content in what he says about anything. Maybe it's just me, but I keep expecting him to have some big honesty session where he spills his guts about his lack of focus on court. It'll never happen though, right? I don't think he's delusional, for the record. He's just incredibly stubborn so he's never going to admit he's messing up or he hasn't got a solution to Rafa's game.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Roger started a second career as a comedian...
ReplyDeleteAs a Fed fan it's painful to hear how much in denial he is at the moment.
Poor Fed, he's lost touch with reality. Someone throw a rope around his waist and bring him back.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand this anymore. Roger, get a coach!! Please!!!
ReplyDeletebarcelona2012- Shame on you.
ReplyDelete"Damnit. How did he even dominate those 4 years, I wonder these days..."
ReplyDeleteBy not only being the best player around, but by having star-struck opponents (Blake, Roddick, et. al.) agree, go all goo-goo eyed over his lovely shot-making and meekly accept the pecking order.
like beggars, they were happy, even grateful to steal a set off him, whereas the likes of Nadal, Murray, Djokovic, Simon have the audacity to aim to win the match.
Yes, there was a brief blip when Safin played, not even to win, but to force Federer to respect him, rather than merely toy around with him in his usual cat-and-mouse fashion. (And whadd'ye know - Safin actually won that one, but that's what comes of playing against Federer with some coherent intention or discernable ambition in mind...)
What amazes me is that Roger has managed to keep his feet (somewhat) on the ground, during those hyperbolic years with almost everyone all but telling him that he was a God and that his game was akin to a 'religious experience' etc.
Not surprising at all that he's having a hard time coming to grips with being a mere mortal now...
He is just playing desperate really.... The continue of "It's killing me..."
ReplyDelete"I know how I have to play him. I’ve beat him enough to know."
ReplyDeleteUmm...The last time you beat Rafa was back in 2007. That's quite a long time ago, you know. It's one thing to know how to play him but whether you can beat him is a different thing.
Rog time for a lie down in a darkened padded room.
ReplyDeleteHe is delusional and sounding more and more so every time he gives an interview
Ha!of course all of you saying he is delusional are clearly anti roger!stop being hypocrites. You would rue this day when your favorite player travels the same darkened path!the question is ?would he last?
ReplyDeleteI would laugh when your so called no 1 was replaced by Murray or someone else sooner than later!Celebrate now for it wont last!
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous 8.08 & 8.10,
ReplyDeleteDon't expect anyone to be as delusion as yourself. We Rafa fans are well awared that his days at the top won't last forever. Even Rafa himself has stated that fact so many times. We're as 'realistic' as our hero because we didn't cheer for him thinking he'd turn into a GOAT candidate to start with. The fact that he is now is just a bonus. Federer and his fans on the other hand seem to live in the ivory tower for too long you got hurt when reality hit you.
We were happy cheering for Rafa even when he was no.2, only good on clay and had a slim chance to reach no.1. Bitter fedfans should learn something from us.
As a Rafa fan we have an important quality that Federer and his fans seem to be lacking which is a grip on reality. We know Rafa is going to be replaced at number one at some point. You know why we know this? Clue? It happens to every tennis player who reaches number one. One thing I can assure you though is Rafa and his fans will behave with grace as they normally do when that day comes. Rafa will not be making any deluded excuses for himself.
ReplyDelete"Rafa fans" "Roger fans".... don't make over generalisations....not all fans react in the same manner. A lot of Roger fans are still as devoted despite Roger not being as dominant. While others feel like Roger owes them something.
