FASHION FIX: Muzz looking blue for US Open, visits Today Show

Andy Murray unveiled his newest Fred Perry duds for the US Open at the Manhattan Plaza Racquet Club in New York today.

Can I say I'm really loving this blue colorway on the polo? Wait, I just did.

Anyway, the Brit baller continued his media merry-go-round by making an appearance on the 4th - or is it 18th - long hour of the Today Show. He briefly talks about how he got into the sport, how he readies for a match and even teaches the ladies how to hit a forehand. If it was me, I'd be asking about his hammer of a backhand. The forehand? Not so much.

FASHION FIX: Andy begins Wimby campaign in high style

Andy Murray made his first foray onto the hallowed grounds of Wimbledon's Centre Court as he begins his campaign for a first Grand Slam title.

The Brit baller struggled early on against Robert Kendrick and dropped the second set in a tiebreaker. However, he closed the last two sets out more easily completing a 7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-4 win over the American. Stats: 58% first serve, 20 aces, 52 winners against 19 errors, and 19 of 22 net approaches.

Andy also debuted the Fred Perry outfit he revealed last week in London. However, instead of the cream tennis sweater the third seed was donning a crisp looking cream warm up jacket:

I thought the only bonus we'd get from this great FP gear would be a little more leg with the shorter shorts (and we still do - thankfully) but I was wrong. I HEART this jacket in a major way.

*dies*

IMO, best boy's outfit this year. Period.

PS - I vote for "Murray's Mound" instead of "Mt. Murray". Anyone wanna join me?!

(UPDATED) FASHION FIX: Andy channels Fred Perry in Fred Perry for Wimbledon

Let the media maelstrom begin!

Andy Murray
, who won his very first title on grass at Queen's Club this weekend, will be taking it back at Wimbledon - stylewise that is.

The Brit baller will be paying homage to the last man from the home country to win the season's third major: Fred Perry who won it in 1936. The 22-year old is, of course, sponsored by the legends eponymous clothing label.

From the pic, it looks like he'll again be working Nike kicks at The All England Club but this time from the brand's White/Gold Collection. There is also a retro zip up jacket and cricket style jumper to compliment the kit.

I love this throwback stuff for Wimby, including the cable knit tennis sweater and the shorter shorts. They could be shorter but I'll take what I can get. And the neutral colors against his already pasty skin really wash him out - but what's new?

UPDATE: More pics from the reveal...

FASHION FIX: Fitting Murray in 2009 Fred Perry, behind-the-scenes of course

Andy Murray, who I think has one of the best baller sites around, is giving us a behind-the-scenes peek at a fitting for his 2009 Fred Perry gear.

The Brit baller is seen in a meeting discussing the design inspirations and getting fitted for his new duds:

It's an interesting process, which is all the more important to pro athletes. Whilst we might just size clothes up in a 'well, it kind of fits' kind of way, these guys have to feel totally comfortable in it day after day.

Every little detail is looked at, with feedback taken on items from last year.

So now you know, a lot of work goes into making sure that shirt sits absolutely right on his shoulders. They even discussed how the fit of the shirt changes over the course of a match.

And, it looks like the designers found an iconic source of inspiration for next season:

Could it be the return of the shorty-shorts to tennis after all? [Insert Rafa/Simone imagery]

This is great stuff. I give big props to Team Andy for consistently giving fans an "insidery" look into his world on and off the court including pre-/post-match thoughts, training, fitness, fashion, and plain ol' fun.

Now if only more baller sites could jump on his bandwagon.
