Could she be considering a switch?

Venus had blue TournaGrip on her racquet against Lisicki. So either that's not her, or not her racquet.

Stephanie: I added a link to the video in the post. It was during the coin toss that she's definitely holding a Prince racquet. The grip is blue, the screen grab quality isn't that great.

It's definitely Prince. She better be changing her racket if she's playing with Prince. Ever since I found out that though he gets the GDP of a small nation from Nike, Tiger plays mostly with Titleist clubs, I've absolutely detested watching athletes use tools from one company but endorse another. end of rant
ReplyDeleteIt's not Prince. It's Wilson, just with a racket serial number sticker place in a very unfortunate/coincidental place. If it were a Prince racket, the P would be 90 degrees in either direction. When you place a normal Prince racket flat on the floor, the P will be vertical (or upside down). If you took Venus' racket, it would be on its side. There's a video on wtatour.com of their match and you can see later on that it's clearly a Wilson. (The racket head isn't even similar to Prince rackets so the paintjob would have been an obvious giveaway.)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the direction of the "P" comment, but I don't understand why a "racket serial number sticker" would be placed on the butt cap of the racquet, and why there isn't a "W" for Wilson?
ReplyDeletePS. all this talk about racquets: whats the correct way of spelling "racquet"? i've always spelled it that way, but what about "racket"? haha, random i know....lol
ddemed,if you are from the commonwealth, i.e. Canada, UK,or the Caribbean, you will perhaps spell racquet, like I do, racquet. If you are from US, you will perhaps spell it racket. A bit like the word cheque, we spell it cheque, Americans spell check. This is the cheque, as in I will give you a cheque for what I owe you,and not the one in I will check you later.
