Uh-oh. It seems hiding your face in shame is becoming a nasty trend on the WTA tour these days.
This latest inductee won four straight games in the second set of her third round battle before the wheels came off, eventually succumbing 6-2, 7-6 (3) to her still very rusty compatriot at the Rogers Cup last night.
I won't embarrass this mystery lady baller by revealing her true identity. I mean, I'm sure she feels badly enough after losing that big lead.
Better luck next time girl.

BTW, today she wore blue SPANDEX (French 08 flashback!!!) Yiiikes!!!
Oh Rich, give her a break. It's MUCH easier to come back from an upper-extremity injury (read: shoulder) than a lower one. We all know that Vera's greatest strength is her movement, and she doesn't have it back yet at the moment. Foot injuries are the worst! She can't move as fast, can't react as fast, and she can't even serve properly cause she can't push her weight to hit the ball at its peak. 'kay? : )
ReplyDeleteGood call Jayz... I really feel like Vera was in the form of her life at the beginning of the year. The injury has definitely impeded her progress.... it's such bad luck. It's just that no one seems to care that Vera is coming back from an injury.... I guess her last name isn't Sharapova, huh?
ReplyDeleteIt's Agnieszka Radwanska
ReplyDeleteVera has been doing this since like she started playing tennis?
ReplyDeleteBepa :( She had one leg in that match yet still took it to Maria in the second. Good fight, Bepa, good fight.
