Firstly, I'd like to admit I haven't actually seen Marion Bartoli play recently in Doha or Indian Wells so these observations are purely based on these images. Plus, I like her attitude + demeanor on and off the tennis court.
But is the pepto-colored dress she's wearing (I hope that's not yours Nike) just horribly unflattering or is last year's Wimbledon finalist completely out-of shape + unfit?

She looks a bit bloated or just out of shape. She does not look fit. She should be conditioned by now. Laying off of that delicious pasta and tomato sauce may help some.
ReplyDeleteLooks like she narrowly escaped a 3rd set with Kerber. We will see if she has longevity, but once she hits some higher ranked players, her fitness level will definitely be tested.
This will be interesting to see how well she does. ahem...can't blame this one on the color either, and I think it is more of a pastel and less Pepto...lol

A bit from column A and a bit from column B.....
ReplyDeleteBartoli is surprisingly good when she is dictating the points (hitting fast when the ball is on the rise with the powerful double fisted strokes). But she tends to run out of gas. Kerber couldn't neutralize the points today and got her butt kicked.
And her dress is indeed a last season garb from Nike.
